“Look and think before opening the shutter. The heart and mind are the true lens of the camera…”

“Of what use are lens and light to those who lack in mind and sight?”

“You can find pictures anywhere. It’s simply a matter of noticing things and organizing them…”

Reading through the above quotations by some Master photographers of the past, one would notice that what prevent us from getting better pictures in photography goes beyond technique and equipment.

What makes photography different from other art forms is we are trying to put the elements we see with our eyes into a Chosen Frame, and try to instill a sense of aesthetic and to create story into the image we make.

But how to do it?

The outings ~ Why Kuala Lumpur & Klang?

~ Both venues consist of essential elements that a photography work require such as authenticity & character, even there are some abstract elements we could use to create good works.

Why Ulu Yam?

~ In Ulu Yam we could find streams amidst the tropical forest, but we are there to train the seeing eye & learn to apply the Visual Balance technique in composition.

Why Analytic critiques of Students’ works is important?

~  Most of the time people would say statements like “It’s nice” or “It’s okay” without explaining why they like it or why they see it that way. Thus, it is important to know that to receive feedback from a good teacher is essential cause he could explain to you throughly & rationally how good or how bad your shots are, and how to improve on them in a detailed and analytical way.
